18/8 stainless · three sealed layers
Strata is a single sheet of surgical-grade steel, folded and welded into three leak-proof compartments that stack the way a good lunch should: mains on the bottom, sides above, something small on top.
How it's built
Double-wall steel keeps rice or noodles hot for up to six hours. No plastic ever touches your food.
A silicone gasket seals sauces and dressing in, so the compartment above stays dry no matter how the bag gets tossed around.
Shallow and wide, built for anything that shouldn't get crushed — fruit, crackers, a folded napkin.
Materials & measurements
Every part that touches food is 18/8 surgical-grade stainless. The only non-metal parts are the silicone gaskets and the strap — both food-safe, both replaceable on their own.

Keeping it
Top rack, any cycle. The gaskets pop out in seconds if you want to hand-wash those separately.
A rinse with warm water and baking soda lifts turmeric or tomato stains — steel won't hold onto smells the way plastic does.
No microwave, no open flame. Otherwise there's nothing to wear out — this is the last lunch box you'll need to buy.
In the field
Some people fill all three layers with one big meal. Others use Strata the way a bento box is meant to be used — small, distinct portions kept separate so nothing touches and nothing gets soggy by lunchtime.
Either way works. The steel doesn't care what you put in it.
Strata ships with all three layers, two gaskets, and a webbing strap. $58, free shipping over $75.
